Adhere to the guidance given and continue using ABIRATERONE-TEVA until your healthcare provider advises you to discontinue. The standard daily dosage of ABIRATERONE-TEVA consists of two 500 mg tablets, which should be consumed as a single dose.

Important Warnings

Do not use Abiraterone-Teva 500mg if you have an allergy to abiraterone acetate or any other components listed at the end of this leaflet. Avoid this medication if you are pregnant or could potentially be pregnant. It is also not suitable for individuals with severe liver impairment.

If you are undergoing treatment with XOFIGO (a type of radiation therapy), you should not take Abiraterone-Teva. Those with moderate or severe liver disease should refrain from using this medication. Your healthcare provider will evaluate whether it is appropriate for use if you have mild liver issues.

Abiraterone-Teva can impact liver function. While on this medication, your doctor will conduct blood tests to monitor its effects on your liver. If you have other health conditions, such as liver problems, high blood pressure, or heart issues, or if you are pregnant, it is crucial to inform your doctor.

This medication can exacerbate high blood pressure, heart failure, or low blood potassium levels. Taking prednisolone alongside Abiraterone-Teva can help prevent these conditions from worsening. Discuss any heart or vascular issues with your healthcare provider.

If you are pregnant or planning to become pregnant, consult your doctor. If you are breastfeeding or intend to breastfeed, discuss this with your doctor as Abiraterone-Teva may affect the baby. When engaging in sexual activity with a pregnant partner, use a condom. If your partner can become pregnant, use a condom and another reliable birth control method.

If you are pregnant or suspect you might be, wear gloves when handling Abiraterone-Teva.


Alcohol & Driving

Exercise caution when operating vehicles or handling machinery until you are certain of how ABIRATERONE-TEVA influences your capabilities. It is generally believed that ABIRATERONE-TEVA does not impair your ability to drive or manage machines.

Storage

Ensure that Abiraterone-Teva 500mg tablets are stored in a place inaccessible to children. The storage area should maintain a temperature of less than 25°C. Keep the tablets in their original packaging, situated in a cool, dry environment, away from any moisture, heat, or direct sunlight. Avoid placing them in locations such as bathrooms, near sinks, inside vehicles, or on window ledges.

Additionally, the tablets are coated with the Opadry II complete film coating system 85F32410 Yellow.
