Prescription RequiredQuick Facts
What Is Noxicid Caps Heartburn Relief Used For?
Noxicid Caps Heartburn Relief contains esomeprazole, a proton-pump inhibitor that helps reduce stomach acid production to provide symptom relief and promote healing.
Primary Uses
This medication is used for the relief of frequent heartburn and stomach acid complaints caused by gastro-oesophageal reflux disease (GORD). Frequent heartburn occurs when you experience heartburn two or more times per week, which is a typical symptom of GORD.
How It Works
It works by decreasing the amount of acid made by the stomach, providing relief of symptoms and allowing healing to take place. This process does not interfere with normal food digestion. The medication helps prevent the ‘washing back’ (reflux) of food and acid from the stomach into the food pipe (oesophagus), which causes the burning sensation in the chest that rises up to the throat.
Good to know: Noxicid Caps Heartburn Relief is not addictive.
How to Take Noxicid Caps Heartburn Relief
Noxicid Caps Heartburn Relief comes as enteric capsules that should be taken consistently for best results.
Dosage Instructions
Take one 20mg capsule each day at about the same time. The medication should be taken for at least 7 days and up to 14 days, depending on the severity of your symptoms. Do not take it for more than 14 days unless directed by a doctor. Swallow the capsules whole with a glass of water – do not crush or chew them as they will not work properly. The capsules can be taken with food or on an empty stomach. This medication is not intended for immediate relief and may take several days to achieve maximum results.
What If You Miss a Dose?
If you forget to take a dose, take it as soon as you remember, then return to your normal schedule. If it’s almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take your next dose when scheduled. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose.
Important: Never take a double dose to make up for a missed dose, and do not crush or chew the capsules as they will not work properly.
