1 pizza dough (about 1 pound),
store-bought or homemade
Pizza sauce
Cheese:
Mozzarella, Asiago
or Italian Blend
Your Favorite toppings: vegetables, pepperoni, mushrooms, etc.
Olive oil

Equipment
Grill, gas or charcoal
Brush
Long Metal tongs

Directions

Get hot! Heat the grill to at least 550-600°F. I

Get Ready! Have your ingredients and toppings on a table or bench near the grill. Good grilled pizza is all about the organization.

Be Prepared! A pair of long metal tongs and spatula. You may want a oven mitt if the grill lid gets hot.

You’re on a roll! Roll your dough into a thin circle. Brush the grill side of dough with olive oil.

It’s go time! Grill one side of the pizza with the lid off (olive oil side down). Brush the top of the dough with a thin layer of olive oil and cook for about 3 minutes. Use the tongs to check it often. You want the dough to just set and not burn.

Get on top of it! Time to top the pizza: Flip the dough over with your tongs. Time to move quickly. Spread on a thin layer of sauce, some cheese, and toppings. Easy does it or the pizza won’t cook well.

Get cooking! Cook for 3 to 5 minutes with the lid on. Keep a close eye on it. Turn down the heat if necessary. When the edges are crispy and the cheese is melted, carefully pull it off the grill with tongs and it’s time to eat!
