You know I was talking to one of my patients and he was talking about the way he talked to himself and he was noticing it. I said wow! That’s a terrific step in the right direction. Did you notice what you were saying? He goes yeah, he was always down on himself and beating himself up. I said that’s probably echoing out of what other people are saying and you are just hearing this and repeating it. Pretty soon, if you keep on repeating it, you are going to believe it. But it’s more than just what you say, it’s how you say it. When you are getting ready in the morning, who is looking at whom in the mirror? Who’s doing the talking? What do you say, and how do You say it? These things are important. I’m not saying anything more than just take notice. Pay attention tomorrow when it happens. Catch yourself. See where that takes you.
