What Is Flecatab Used For?
Flecatab contains flecainide acetate and belongs to a group of medicines called antiarrhythmics that help regulate your heartbeat.
Primary Uses
Flecatab is used to treat arrhythmia, which is an irregular or abnormal heartbeat condition.
How It Works
Flecatab works by slowing down the electrical impulses that cause your heart to beat in an irregular or abnormal way, helping to restore a normal heart rhythm.
How to Take Flecatab
Take Flecatab exactly as prescribed by your doctor. The dose varies from patient to patient based on your response to the medicine.
Dosage Instructions
The usual starting dose is 50 mg to 100 mg every twelve hours. Your doctor may adjust this dose based on how you respond. The recommended maximum dose is 300 mg a day, but it may be increased up to 400 mg a day in certain patients. Swallow the tablets with a glass of water. Flecatab can be taken with or without food. Take it at the same time each day for best results.
What If You Miss a Dose?
If you miss your dose at the usual time, take it as soon as you remember. If it’s almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and take your next dose when scheduled. Never take a double dose to make up for a missed one.
Important: Never take a double dose to make up for the dose you missed. Follow your doctor’s instructions exactly and do not stop taking Flecatab or change the dose without checking with your doctor first.
