What Is Motilium 10mg Tablets Used For?

Motilium contains domperidone, which is an antiemetic and prokinetic medicine that helps control nausea and vomiting while improving stomach movement.

Primary Uses

Motilium is used to treat nausea and vomiting in adults, and discomfort caused by gastroparesis (slow-moving stomach). Gastroparesis symptoms include not being able to finish meals, feeling too full or bloated after eating, loss of appetite, feeling sick, and possibly vomiting or belching without relief.

How It Works

Motilium works by blocking the action of a chemical messenger in the brain that causes nausea and vomiting. It also increases movement and contractions of the stomach and intestines, allowing food to move more easily through the stomach.

How to Take Motilium 10mg Tablets

Take Motilium exactly as prescribed by your doctor. The timing of doses is important for best results.

Dosage Instructions

The usual dose for adults is one tablet three times daily. Take Motilium 15 to 30 minutes before meals, and if necessary at bedtime. For nausea and vomiting, this medicine is usually used for a maximum of 1 week. For other conditions, initial treatment duration is up to a maximum of 4 weeks. Continue using Motilium until your doctor tells you to stop.

What If You Miss a Dose?

Try to take each dose at the scheduled time. If you miss a dose, skip it and take your next dose when you are meant to. Do not take a double dose to make up for the missed dose. If you have missed more than one dose or are unsure what to do, check with your doctor or pharmacist.

Important: Never take a double dose to make up for a missed dose
